Services that support the administrative and business functions of the university.
Includes enterprise systems, business capability and process automation, financial and procurement systems, human resource systems, library systems, and other systems supporting the day-to-day operations of the university.

AV, Media, and Event Support

Services related to Audio Visual technology and support, and media production.

Budgets, Acquisitions, and Inventory

Purchase consultation, licensing, vendor management and contract negotiations for hardware and software purchases and leasing.

Communication and Collaboration

Services that facilitate university communication and collaboration needs. Includes web conferencing, email and collaboration services, media and audio/visual, social media, intranet, mass mailings, etc.

Data, Analytics, and Reporting

Services and resources that focus on all things data for the University.

Desktop and Mobile Computing

Services that support access and use of community members’ devices and related peripherals. Includes desktop and mobile device support, printing and related services, and software and applications distribution.

Digital Accessibility Services

Services that assist any St. Thomas student, staff or faculty to learn and use digitally accessible practices and technologies. Digital accessibility means that all people, including people with disabilities and those using assistive technology, have effective access and use of digital content, technology applications, and electronic information technology (EIT) based communications.

Information Security, Accounts, and Access

Services that provide security, data integrity, and compliance for institutional activities. Includes identity and access management, security consulting and educations, incident response and investigation, and security policy and compliance.

IT Professional Services

People-based services that support the management of IT for the institution. Comprises consulting services not related to specific services identified in other categories. Includes enterprise architecture, continuous improvement and innovation, digital accessibility, IT communication and documentation, IT service delivery and support, portfolio and project management, and training and outreach.

Network and Infrastructure

Foundational services that support the operation and management of the enterprise IT environment. Includes data center services, database management, network and connectivity management, and server and storage management.

Research

Services supporting the institution’s research activities, including specialized storage and computation, high-performance computing (HPC), visualization, and lab-management systems. (In this example, we skip the sub-category level and go directly to the Services. In some cases, sub-categories just might not be relevant for our customers.)

Teaching and Learning

Instructional technologies and instructional design resources that directly support teaching and learning. This includes consulting on course design, technologies for courses, assessment and learning analytics, media recording and lecture capture, student response systems, training and student digital orientations and badge development.

Websites and Apps

Services related to websites and web applications including content management systems, portals, web hosting, web analytics, user experience design, and URL management. Also includes website and mobile application development.

Student Data and Registrar

Faculty and Staff support for student data, registration and financial aid for Banner, Degree Works and Salesforce systems.
